Our client operates a fast-paced warehouse where hundreds of customer orders are processed and shipped every day. While Oracle NetSuite managed inventory and order data, the warehouse team relied on entirely manual verification processes before every shipment.
Warehouse operators searched for orders in spreadsheets, manually verified picked items, checked quantities against printed documents, and then updated shipment information back in NetSuite - constantly switching between paper, Excel, and the ERP system.
As order volumes increased, incorrect item verification, delayed shipments, and administrative overhead reduced productivity and impacted delivery timelines. The team also lacked any mobile solution that could perform order verification and shipment confirmation directly on the warehouse floor.

A custom WMS mobile app built for the warehouse floor
To modernize the warehouse shipping process, our team developed a custom Warehouse Management System (WMS) Mobile Application fully integrated with Oracle NetSuite. The mobile application enables warehouse users to complete the entire shipment verification process directly from handheld mobile devices, eliminating the need for spreadsheets and paper-based documentation.
Warehouse operators can quickly search for sales orders using the order number and instantly retrieve all shipment details from NetSuite. The application displays the complete list of order items, allowing users to verify quantities before shipment. One of the most significant enhancements delivered in this solution was the implementation of custom partial shipment functionality.
The standard NetSuite WMS workflow did not support partial shipments in the way the client's warehouse operations required. To overcome this limitation, we designed a custom workflow that allows warehouse users to ship only the required quantity of individual items while automatically processing the remaining quantity in the background. This enhancement removed the need for manual order adjustments and significantly simplified warehouse operations.
Once verification is complete, warehouse users can confirm the shipment directly from the mobile application. The system automatically updates NetSuite records, ensuring inventory, fulfillment status, and shipment information remain synchronized in real time. Background automation using SuiteScript Scheduled Scripts manages post-shipment processing without interrupting warehouse operations, enabling a seamless user experience while maintaining data accuracy across the ERP system. The result is a fully mobile warehouse solution that transforms manual shipping operations into an efficient, accurate, and scalable digital workflow.
